The Only Hope for Ukraine — and the World

We receive daily reports from the media of what, according to secular journalists, is happening in Ukraine and how it may affect the nations outside that beleaguered country. As with all secular reporting, the emphasis is on parsing what the principal politicians involved in the conflict are saying in response to developments, as though the situation were to be resolved by rhetoric and media commentary.

We have, among other ironies, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry pontificating over what constitutes justice for the Ukrainian people, denouncing the use of force as “19th century behavior”. Implicit in Kerry’s comments is the presumption that what is modern is what is best and that all our predecessors were necessarily more benighted and primitive than we are. Kerry also fails to acknowledge the obvious: that his assumption of authority in the matter is based squarely and solely on the force commanded by the United States, militarily through NATO and economically through its capital investment in Russia. Apparently, 19th century behavior is acceptable from some quarters.

But is the U.S. government vitally concerned with the welfare of the Ukrainian people? Of course not. It is concerned about containing Russian power and influence. Who has the interest of the Ukrainian people at heart? The Ukrainian Catholic Church, for one. In the most significant development during the month of April (one almost entirely ignored by the media), the Patriarch of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, His Beatitude Svatioslav, re-consecrated his nation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. (See: “The Act of placing Ukraine under the Intercession of the Blessed Mother”.)

He reminded his nation – and the world, if it cared to listen – that history is in the hands of God. What secular leaders do may have grave consequences, but those consequences will be directly proportional to whether they have acted according to Heaven’s will or their own presumed wisdom. His Beatitude also reminded us of our own responsibility for the larger happenings in the world for which we may believe we bear no responsibility.

He said the consecration of Ukraine to Our Lady must happen alongside a consecration of each individual life to Our Lady. We must participate in such a consecration, he stressed, if we hope to receive Our Lady’s blessing and help for the nation. The same is true in the matter of the consecration of Russia to Our Lady of Fatima. We must further the consecration not only by urging our Church leaders to obey Our Lady’s request, but by conforming our lives to what Our Lady has asked of each and every one of us: to pray the daily Rosary, perform the First Saturday devotions and make sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.

It is easy to scapegoat our leaders — in Church or state — for their failures, but we must acknowledge our own responsibility for the problems we face as an international community. If we sanctify our lives, the channels of grace may flow in unexpected directions, influencing events in the world at large. And we should not presume, as does John Kerry, to know what constitutes the best possible outcome in any situation. All is in the hands of God, as the patriarch of Ukraine has reminded us.

Should Russia take control of greater portions of her former empire that may not necessarily be undesirable. A strange thing is happening with Vladimir Putin and, one may be permitted to think, with the national mood of the Russian people. Putin is stressing Russia’s past as a Christian nation at every opportunity and urging a return to the moral values of Christendom (see: “The Message of Fatima: Ignore It at Your Peril”).

If Russia is to be Heaven’s instrument for either the chastisement or salvation of the world, we do not know how Providence may prepare us for that eventuality. We do know that Russia will eventually be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and the bishops of the Catholic Church and that peace will be granted to the world. To what extent the world will have to suffer until that happens is unknown. It has been placed in our hands. So we must do all we can to conform our lives to the Fatima Message and to urge those capable of performing the consecration to act without further delay. The situation in the Ukraine may mark the beginning of a greater chastisement that could engulf the world.

Miracle of the Sun October 13th

Sixth Apparition at Fatima of the Virgin Mary

By October the news of Fatima spread more, and the people learned that a miracle was to happen. The children began to speak of the miracle which was to happen.

Seventy to one hundred thousand pilgrims came to the Cova da Iria.

It was pouring down rain and everything was very muddy. My family was very uncertain and feared that if the miracle did not take place; the people would want to kill the three children.

Once there, moved by an interior impulse, I asked the people to shut their umbrellas and pray a Rosary. Soon after that there was a flash of light, and Our Lady appeared above the oak tree. Lucia asked: "What do you want of me?"

I want to tell you that a chapel is to be built here in my honor. I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue always to pray the Rosary every day. The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes."

"I have many things to ask you: the cure of some sick persons, the conversion of sinners, and other things . . . "

"Some yes, but not others. They must amend their lives and ask forgiveness for their sins." Looking very sad, Our Lady said: "Do not offend the Lord our God any more, because He is already so much offended."

Then, opening her hands, she made them reflect onto the sun, and as she ascended, the reflection of her own light continued to be projected on the sun itself.

Here, Your Excellency, is the reason why I cried out to the people to look at the sun. My aim was not to call their attention to the sun, because I was not even aware of their presence. I was moved to do so under the guidance of an interior impulse.

After Our Lady had disappeared into the immense distance of the firmament, we beheld St. Joseph with the Child Jesus and Our Lady robed in white with a blue mantle, beside the sun. St. Joseph and the Child Jesus appeared to bless the world, for they traced the Sign of the Cross with their hands. When, a little later, this apparition disappeared, I saw Our Lord and Our Lady; it seemed to me that it was Our Lady of Dolor's. Our Lord appeared to bless the world in the same manner as St. Joseph had done. This apparition also vanished, and I saw Our Lady once more, this time resembling Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, holding the child Jesus in one hand and the brown scapular in the other hand.

At the predetermined hour, the rain stopped, and the thick mass of clouds broke. The sun looked like a disc of dull silver, and began dancing wildly. The people shouted out: "MIRACLE!" It seems that the majority of the people saw the sun trembling and dancing, whirling around like a catherine wheel; it descended almost low enough to burn the earth with its rays. Many thought the end of the world had come, as the sun seemed to fall upon them. People reported color changes in objects on earth, caused by the rays of the sun. Some expressed sorrow for their sins aloud. Some who had come to ridicule now believed.

After the great miracle of the Sun which Our Lady had performed "so that all may believe," the events of Fatima became the subject of national attention in Portugal.

It took the Church over thirteen years to make an official declaration, and many clarifications were still necessary.

The first publication of the subject of Fatima came from Fr. Formigao in 1921. He too was a nonbeliever of the Fatima events and was converted by Our Lady of Fatima at the September 13, 1917, apparition.

Third Secret of Fatima contained in 1963 version

THE THIRD SECRET OF FATIMA

Our Lady revealed the Third Secret to Lucy, on July 13, 1917, at the Cova da Iria (Fatima). Lucy wrote down the Third Secret of Fatima on January 3, 1944. She gave it to the Bishop of Leiria in 1957, and he handed it over to the Vatican. After reading it, John XXIII gave it to the Prefect of the Holy Office, Card. Ottaviani, to read, and then he filed it. In 1963, Paul VI read the Third Secret, and filed it away. And so did all his successors. In the same year, 1963, Card. Ottaviani wrote a “diplomatic version” of the Third Secret which he sent to the authorities in Washington, London and Moscow, with the intent to put an end to nuclear testing. This text was published by the German periodical of Stuttgart, “Neues Europa,” on October 15, 1963, with Card. Ottaviani’s authorization. The text of this “diplomatic version” was about three times longer than the Third Secret, and therefore, it was a “fake.” However, this “diplomatic” text also had a “secret”: It contained all the sentences of the Third Secret of Fatima, written by Lucia! But who knew these sentences?

Cardinal Ottaviani and ... Fr. Luigi Villa! In 1956, Fr. Luigi Villa, was commissioned by Padre Pio to dedicate his life to defend the Church of Christ from the work of Ecclesiastical Freemasonry and, via the Archbishop of Chieti, Msgr. Bosio, he received a papal mandate from Pope Pius XII to carry out this delicate task. Pius XII entrusted Fr. Villa to Card. Ottaviani to be trained and instructed on all the secrets of the Church pertaining to his mandate. So it was that, for many years, Fr. Villa became Card. Ottaviani’s secret agent.
Among the secrets that Fr. Villa had to know was the Third Secret of Fatima. Fr. Villa knew all the sentences of the Third Secret contained in Card. Ottaviani’s “diplomatic version.” It was Father Villa, who one day told me all these sentences, one by one. It was he, shortly before his death, who gave me the permission to publish them in my “testimony”!

Brescia, June 24, 2013
In Faith, Mr. Franco Adessa

A great chastisement will fall on the entire human race; not today as yet, not tomorrow, but in the second half of the Twentieth Century. No longer does order reign anywhere and Satan will reign over the highest places directing the course of events. He (Satan) really will succeed in infiltrating to the top of the Church. Also for the Church a time of Her greatest trials will come. Cardinals will oppose Cardinals; Bishops will oppose Bishops and Satan will march amid their ranks, and in Rome there will be changes. What is rotten will fall, and what will fall will never rise again. The Church will be darkened and the world deranged by terror. A great war will break out within the second half of the Twentieth Century. Fire and smoke will fall from Heaven, the water of the oceans will become vapors and the foam will rise up flooding and sinking everything. Millions and millions of people will die by the hour and the survivors will envy the dead. Death will reign everywhere for the errors committed by the foolish and by the partisans of Satan, who, then and only then, will reign over the world. At last, those who will survive all of these events will once more proclaim God and His Glory and serve Him like before, when the world was not so corrupted.

Our Lady of Fatima May 13th

5/13/2013

THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, the Mother of God,  appeared six times to three shepherd children near the town of Fatima, Portugal between May 13 and October 13,  1917. Appearing to the children, the Blessed Virgin told them that She had been  sent by God with a message for every man, woman and child living in our century.  Coming at a time when civilization  was torn asunder by war and bloody violence,  She promised that Heaven would grant peace to all the world if Her requests for  prayer, reparation and consecration were heard and obeyed.

And who can resist the great Charity with which Our Blessed Mother comes to us? As a true mother to her children she comes and yet the vast majority of her children choose to belittle or ignore her. To their own shame! She told us at Fatima that God wishes to establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart--so it is God whom our evil and rebellious world rejects through Our Lady. What a disgrace to our generation!

Our Lady of Fatima explained to the children that war is a punishment for sin and warned that God would further castigate the world for its disobedience to His Will by means of war, hunger and the persecution of the Church, the Holy Father and the Catholic Faithful. God's Mother prophesied that Russia would be God's chosen "instrument of chastisement," spreading the errors of atheism and  materialism across the earth, fomenting wars, annihilating nations and persecuting the faithful everywhere.

"If My requests are not granted,  Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, raising up wars and  persecutions against the Church. The good will be martryed, the Holy Father will  suffer much and various nations will be  annihilated."

In all Her appearances at Fatima, the Blessed Mother repeatedly emphasized the necessity of praying the Rosary daily, of wearing the Brown  Scapular of Mount Carmel and of performing acts of reparation and sacrifice.  To prevent the terrible chastisement at the hands of Russia and to convert "that  poor nation", Our Lady requested the solemn public consecration of Russia to Her  Immaculate Heart by the Pope and all the Catholic bishops of the world. She also  asked that the Faithful practice a devotion of reparation on the first  Saturday of five consecutive
months ("The Five First  Saturdays")

Those who have read the Third Secret....

S. Cardinal Ottaviani:

The message was not to be opened before 1960. I asked Sister Lucia, “Why this date?” She answered, “Because then it will be clearer.”

Cardinal Ottaviani was the head of the Holy Office. He interrogated Sister Lucia in 1955.

Fr. J. Schweigl:
I cannot reveal anything of what I learned at Fatima concerning the Third Secret, but I can say that it has two parts: one concerns the Pope; the other logically (although I must say nothing) would have to be the continuation of the words: 'In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved' (The Whole Truth about Fatima, Vol. III, p. 74).

Pope Pius XII personally sent Fr. Schweigle to interrogate Sr. Lucia about the Third Secret in 1952.

Fr. Joaquin AlonsoIn the period preceding the great triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, terrible things are to happen.
These form the content of the third part of the Secret.
What are they? If 'in Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved' it can be clearly deduced from this that in other parts of the Church the dogmas are going to become obscure or even lost altogether.
Perhaps it even refers to the failures of the upper hierarchy of the Church.

Fr. Alonso was the official archivist of Fatima, 1965

J. Cardinal Ratzinger:
Yes, I have read [the Third Secret]. [It refers to] a radical call to conversion; the absolute seriousness of history; the dangers which threaten the faith and the life of the Christian and therefore (the life) of the world (Jesus, November 11, 1984).

Cardinal Ratzinger became Pope Benedict the XVI in 2005.

St. Nicholas von Flue (15th century)

“The Church will be punished because the majority of Her members, high and low, will become so perverted. The Church will sink deeper and deeper until She will at last seem to be extinguished, and the succession of Peter and the other Apostles to have expired. But, after this, She will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters.”

St. John Bosco (19th century)

“There will be an Ecumenical Council in the next century, after which there will be chaos in the Church.” [1862 Prediction]

Vision of the Third Secret

5/13/2013

VISION OF THE THIRD SECRET

Our Lady of Fatima:  "After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God."

Our Lady of Fatima, the third Secret found?

5/13/2013

A version of the Third Secret, as supposedly heard by a French priest in Germany in 1994, in the middle of listening to a CD of religious music. At one point the music faded into the background, and he heard a normal (not inner) voice say quite clearly, " The Church will bleed from all her wounds." Then he heard the following:

"A wicked Council will be planned and prepared which will change the face of the Church. Many souls will lose the Faith, confusion will reign everywhere. The sheep will seek in vain for their shepherds. A schism will rend my Son's tunic. It will be the end of the times, announced in Scripture and recalled by me in many places. The abomination of abominations will reach its peak and call down the chastisement announced at La Salette. The arm of my Son that I can no longer hold back, will come down on this world which will have to expiate its crimes. All that one will hear of is wars and revolutions. The elements of nature will be shaken and will strike anguish into the best (most courageous) of men. The Church will bleed from all her wounds. Blessed those who persevere and seek refuge in my Heart, for in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph..."

After which, all that the priest heard was, "That is the Third Secret of Fatima". The identity of this priest is known, but he prefers to remain unnamed. He is apparently Traditional, without belonging to the Society of St. Pius X or the Fraternity of St. Peter. He is always in a cassock. He is not sedevacantist. He passes for being worthy of belief.
